ZOR is an independent, non-profit international non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to defending the rights of the indigenous populations of the Zagroz and Tauruz basins, primarily the Kurdish nation. Formally registered in Europe, ZOR’s fundamental mission is to bring the humanitarian and political struggles of this region into the realm of international law and diplomacy. We operate to establish institutional justice, prevent the recurrence of genocide, and secure international legitimacy for the right to self-determination.
About ZOR Organization
The Zagros and Taurus basins represent the cradle of one of humanity’s oldest civilizations and the historic homeland of the Kurdish nation. The Zagroz and Tauroz Origin Revival (ZOR) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to transitioning the humanitarian and political struggle of this region into the realm of international law and diplomacy. We operate to establish institutional justice, prevent the recurrence of genocide, and secure international recognition for the collective rights of the Kurdish nation.
Our Vision
To elevate the historical struggle of the millions residing in the Zagrosz and Tauroz basins onto the global stage, transforming geopolitical volatility into a structured international legal discourse. We envision a future where regional justice is codified, the threat of systemic erasure is eliminated, and the Kurdish nation’s right to self-determination achieves full international legitimacy.

Our Mission
ZOR’s mission is anchored in the foundational pillars of international human rights:
Guided by Article 1(2) of the United Nations Charter, advocating for the equal rights and self-determination of peoples.
Utilizing the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP 2007) to protect the identity, environment, and ancestral heritage of a population historically subjected to systematic marginalization.
FAQ
Historically, traditional political demands for statehood have been blocked by regional occupying states using the excuse of "national security" or sovereignty. By framing the Kurdish cause under the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP 2007), ZOR elevates the issue to a global human rights and constitutional level. This strategic legal shift bypasses regional vetoes, making it an international mandate to protect the identity, environment, culture, and ancestral lands of the Kurdish people.
No. ZOR is a strictly independent, civil, and legal entity. It maintains absolute neutrality and has no financial, organizational, or logistical ties to any political party, domestic faction, or armed group. All of the foundation's advocacy and operations are conducted exclusively through peaceful, academic, legal, and diplomatic channels.
To preserve absolute independence and avoid foreign state dependency, ZOR relies on decentralized grassroots funding (crowdfunding), annual membership fees, and revenues from our "Cultural Brand" (globalizing authentic Kurdish apparel and crafts). ZOR enforces a strict anti-corruption policy: all funds are deposited into centralized official bank accounts, and expenditures require dual-authorization from the Executive Board. Furthermore, we publish monthly and annual financial reports for all shareholders, and our accounts are reviewed every three years by an independent European External Audit Company to ensure full compliance with UN ECOSOC standards.
ZOR’s membership is open to all global citizens, legal experts, and human rights defenders, regardless of their official passport or nationality. Individuals can join as Active Members (working directly in our committees), Expert/Honorary Members (providing academic or diplomatic counsel), or Supporting Members. Anyone who contributes financially through our global crowdfunding campaigns is automatically registered onto our "Golden List of Permanent Ownership," granting them lifelong, un-rescindable legal shares in the foundation's cultural brand revenues and institutional assets.
